Gun Rights

In the founding of this nation, one of the safeguards the founders provided to the citizens is the right to keep and bear arms. There was no concern as to whether technology would evolve to various types of weapons available to us today, nor was there a concern for nefarious usage of the right. The main concern was a tyrannical government and self-protection. Law abiding citizens should be subjected to the scrutiny nor the restrictions to self-protection. If nothing else, they should be empowered through appropriate legislation to ensure they have the God given right to self-preservation and to protect those around them. When people are stabbed – we don’t call for knife laws. When people drink and drive – we don’t call for alcohol or car bans. When people sat on fire – we don’t call for a ban on gasoline. Our Constitution is very clear. “The Right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”
